The Sensemaking meetup is Systems Change Finland’s monthly meetup where we explore topics related to applied Systems Thinking and Complexity with interesting speakers. Instead of being one-sided lectures, our meetups are spaces where participants can also make sense about the topics with each other. January’s meetup is organized in association with our global friends in the Systems Innovation community (https://systemsinnovation.io/).

In January’s meetup on 11.1.2020 the discussion will be ignited by Ida Uusikylä who works as an Innovation officer at UNDP Viet Nam. Ida will be speaking about the work the UNDP is doing in establishing practices related to sensemaking and (innovation) portfolios of experiments to build the organization’s capabilities to apply Systems Thinking in practice. Ida will touch upon questions of building learning organizations and the role of experimentation can take in enabling them.
As background material to the discussion you might want to read the conversation Systems Change Finland’s Arnaldo Pellini had with Ida Uusikylä: https://knowledgecounts.fi/2020/04/29/experimenting-with-innovation-and-accelerating-development-in-vietnam-in-conversation-with-undps-ida-uusikyla/
Ida Uusikylä works as an Innovation officer in UNDP’s Viet Nam office where she collaborates UNDP’s Accelerator Labs network. Ida has worked on projects related to sustainability and circular economy and has lately been helping their country office build capabilities in innovation, sensemaking and innovation portfolios.
